Below is a technical analysis of the Nokia 6600 cell phone, it should help you understand better what are the strongest and weakest points of this phone. All the points mentioned are my personal viewpoint.
Weight: The Nokia 6600 is very light and should make this phone comfortable to use and carry around.
Camera: The camera is good enough for a smart phone. It has a camera (640 x 480), which is certainly not necessary but may be useful and enhance your cellular experience.
Video Recorder: The video recorder is ok, although you can only record up to 10 seconds if you get the sound add on. There is a program however, to let you record as long as you want.
Battery: The battery lasts me a day if I am constantly using it to play games, run apps etc.) This is only with heavy use though. Normally it will last me 2 days, and thats making and receiving a few phone calls, playing games etc.) Just regular use. (I think the talk time is around 4 hours)
Display: This is the most outstanding feature of this phone The color displays color mode is 65, 536 and its resolution is 176 X 208. A color display is nice for surfing the web or viewing pictures and, of course, the larger it is, the better the experience will be.
Connectivity: It is Bluetooth and infrared enabled, which is an interesting plus. if your computer has either Bluetooth or Infrared, you can instantly connect the Nokia 6600 to your computer and download phone book contacts and ringtones or pictures.
Sms : like other phones it also has T9 dictionary. Nothing special, all phones have this feature.
Voice command: It includes voice notes . A voice note system is quite useful to make quick notes and reminders while on the road.
Sound: Sound of this phone is the most disappointing feature of this phone.Sound is horrible. It is very low..In crowded areas even if u place the near ur ears, u will hardly hear anything. Sound of N-GAUGE is superb.Nokia people still opt for 16-chord poly tones whereas Samsung phones have 64-chord poly tones. Ahh?.don?t they sound great. My friend has Samsung a c100 and I always wonder why didn?t I purchase that phone (even after owning worlds best phone).
Ok?Just 1-2 bad features doesn?t make a phone bad. 6600 is the best selling phone of Nokia.
Extra memory: You can expand the memory wid the help of a memory card.
Applications: This phone contains some inbuilt apps like photo print, Kodak, quickword, photo xpress, clips combiner, mobi pocket(e books), world time, real one player, etc etc.
One can download many software from this site https://wap.my-symbian.com for free (trial versions). Also if u can spare some money (700-800 RS), u can get your phone fully loaded with softwares like:
Camcorder ?Unlimited video recording
MP3Go (An mp3 player)
Total IRRemote (A remote control for your phone. Control almost every infra red device - tvs, hi fis, videos, dvd players).
Mosquito protection : It radiates rays and Protects us from machars.
Ok guys, now that u have read this review. Phuleeze don?t close the window without rating this review. I have spent hours in planning and writing this review.I?m only asking u to spend an extra minute .Only ur ratings would encourage me to write more reviews.
Thankyou
UPDATE:
Hello friends. My last two reviews have been very controversial, so this time I have decided to play safe. I have already written a review on 6600 describing its features in detail. This time I?m writing a piece on its limitations. Read on.
-- Size: 6600 doesnt feel small by any stretch of the imagination. It is slightly shorter than a P900 (my uncle has a p900), but slightly wider also and has basically the same thickness. Considering the much larger display and greater functionality (and cost, of course) of the P900, you have to wonder if the 6600 couldnt have been smaller.
-- Hollow feeling: one of the things that struck me about the 6600 was the hollow feeling of it. While I have never opened the device up, it certainly feels like it conceals a lot of empty space. It feels tough enough, but just not solid. I get the feeling that the extra width was added purely to allow for the extra buttons to be placed on the sides of the keypad. These extra buttons are C (clear), the edit menu, and the main menu access key. The green and red call control buttons easily could have been placed under the display.
-- Keypad: In general I wasnt pleased with the keypad. The devices large size requires somewhat large hands to be held and used; yet the numeric keypad is a bit cramped- being better for smaller hands.
-- Joystick: With dry clean hands, the joystick is great. When your hands are a bit damp or sweaty, the joystick quickly becomes slippery. You will feel this when you use the joystick (for games, exploring the phone) for an extended period of time.
-- Camera lens: There is no protection for camera lens. I always fear that it would get scratched (I?m sure everybody would feel like this).
-- Time gap: The backlight doesnt come on quickly enough. It isnt a long delay, mind you, but it is an annoying one. If the backlight turns off and if you press a button there will be a second lag or so between the times that you press a button and when the backlight comes on again. I fail to understand what is ?koool? in this feature. It just makes no sense. But that is the only complaint I have for what is otherwise a great display.
.
-- No changeable covers: Although you can change the appearance of the display by changing themes, you can?t change the appearance of the phone. There are no changeable covers (original panel costs 1000 bucks) available in the market. Though duplicate panels are available in gray markets but they don?t look good.
That is it friends. I can remember only this much points but I?ll keep updating this review with new points (drawbacks) as soon as I discover them.
If you know any fault, which is not mentioned above you can always mention it in the comment section.
