Hi everybody..
just got a 6600 around a month back and cant help exploring the various features..just wanted to share with all of u some of my thoughts on the phone..
among the best features is the symbian OS !.. among the best sites to download symbian software are :
https://symbianx.com
https://imserba.com
https://teracro.com
https://mobango.com
also one can get to everything abt the symbian from various discussion forums, the best being https://zedge.no and https://allaboutsymbian.com
the sound output on the 6600 is a bit low.. a workaround is to keep such a file as ringtone which by default has a loud volume.. u can convert your favourite portion of any mp3 to either wav format or ogg format using DBPowerAmp - a free conversion software.. just copy the wav file or ogg file in the C\sounds\digital folder on ur nokia 6600 and choose it as a ringtone...
instead of storing mp3s in ur phone.. it would be a far better idea to convert the mp3s into ogg files.. (using dbpoweramp) .. a 64 kbps ogg file is of the same quality as a 128 kbps mp3 file and occupies 1/3 the space of the original mp3 !!!
of course 1 misses the radio on the 6600 but can be compensated by listeing to oggs on the phone.. but of course the output is mono.. but hey somethings better than nuting...
5 some of the ways to speed up the 6600 are.. and I have practically experienced the same..
enable only the default them on the phone
reduce the log settings to as low as u can (1 day would be the best)
keep as much space free on the phone memory as u can.. install all softwares on the mmc
change the default storage settings of Recorded Sounds, Camera Pics and SMS to MMC.. this would save precious space on the memory..
the pencil key on the 6600 can be used for copy paste.. just press and hold the pencil key and u get options for COPY and PASTE...
ok..ppl.. got tired of typing so much.. something more next time...
ok ..bye..
