I was first using a Nokia 3510i, and was thinking of writing a review about that, but suddenly, a good, pleasant change happened in my life.I bought the Nokia 6610 for RS.16, 399/- and it is worth every penny. My 6610 comes in the Piano Black X-Press On Cover, with Piano White and Green coloured covers also available.
The Nokia 6610 is a one time upgrade. After you buy this mobile phone, i am sure you wont need an upgrade atleast for the next 1-2 years, as it is definetly built with future in mind.It features an amazing 4096 colour display with 128X128 resolution, which makes a lot of difference on how the 4096 colours are used.On my previous 3510i, which also featured 4096 colours, the colour realism, sharpness, image clarity was not at all good.On the Nokia 6610, all these categories have vastly improved, providing me with a rich colour experience. The menus are fun to browse, the sharpness is mind blowing, but the quality of the pictures is not so good, but better than the 3510i.The 6610 also features a 4-way scroll, which provides much needed flexiblity of Menu usage.
The Nokia 6610 has a big memory. It can store upto 300 names and numbers with a lot of other information like Address, Web Address, Website and so on.It can store upto 150 text messages and 50 picture messages. The software also seems to have improved.Despite having a large number of SMS in my Inbox(around 110), it opened quite quickly. The Nokia 6610 also features the handsfree speakerphone, so you dont get exposed to cellular radiation or have to hold the handset or wear the headset. The stereo radio feature is excellent, as the music plays directy throught the speakerphone. The Nokia 6610 features are 40 tone polyphonic speaker(as mentioned in my Manual), which are much better to hear to than the previous 4-tones on the 3510i.The best feature I liked about this phone is Java, which truly allows you to personalize your phone and enjoy too.The Java games are excellent!Tri-Band functionality is also provided, providing effortless communication in most of the globe.Other advantages include a Alarm Clock, an Organizer, Calculator, concenacted SMS, MMS and ofcourse, the lively full screen Wallpapers you can keep. The Pop-Port interface will truly add total functionality to this phone as you can connect anything from a headset to a digital camera. So its after all a all-in-one phone.
Overall, the Nokia 6610 is a marvel of the phone, just like its predessor, the 6510.It has sleek and stylish design, a stable software, unlike the 7210, whose keypad is too radical and not good looking and a few software problems. If you are upgrading from any cell phone, i strongly recommend the 6610 as it is a future phone with all lateset features, it wont let you down.So go for it!
