I had 5 nokia models b4 I bought this phone.My last nokia was 6600 which I was extremely happy with. But for the bulk it was a superb phone which became more and more common as the prices fell.I gave tht and went in for a sony erickson k750i which is also a brilliant phone.Since ive been using nokia from the start I was a bit uncomfortable with the SE even though it is a user friendly like nokia.Once a nokia user always a nokia user I guess it was for me so I went in for the 6681.
I’ve had it for abt 4 months now and touchwood, i haven’t had any problem with it so far.The reception is simply awesome.Where I had a problem with my 6600 with regards to poor signal at times at my home and office, there is no such issue with this phone.I don’t recall even one time when i’ve dropped a call on this phone.Being sleeker than the 6600 it is very easy to grip.The camera is gr8 too.At times I feel if I had this phone earlier the need to buy a digital camera wouldn’t have arose.One small grouse with the camera is that the pics taken indoors, especially in dark surroundings are kinda grainy.
Being a symbian phone there are unlimited free games and applications available on the net.Thanks to EDGE, data transfer over the net is much faster compared to a GPRS phone.File sharing is also much quicker compared to my earlier 6600.I now transfer pics, MP3 files between my PC and the phone without having to wait endlessly.The quality of the music player is very good.The stereo headset that comes with the phone is very effective.Loud and clear and non jarring even at maximum volume.
The only problem I faced was a faulty camera slide.Within one month after I bought it something snapped inside and as a result the slide wasn’t working properly. Nokia service centre had it fixed after making several visits.It is alright now but I must warn u abt nokia customer service.They suck big time.They made me run around saying they don’t have accessories of the phone which according to them was still a new model almost 1 year after its launch.They take their customers for granted and give u a feeling that they are doing u a favour by attending to yr problem.They sit up and pay attention only when u give them a piece of yr mind a create a ruckus.Anyway, I did that and got my problem fixed.
The phone is great.I would strongly recommend to anyone who is thinking of picking it up.
