I take pleasure in writing the very first review for the Nokia 6681..
If I would describe this phone in word.. It ROCKS!...
I picked it up after my Nokia 6600 went down because of a hardware problem ( No im not writing a review on Nokia 6600) .
Initially I wanted to go for the Nokia 6630 but it was the shopkeeper who bestowed the light on me.. He explained the difference between the Nokia 6630 and the new Nokia 6681. Of all the points I found the following useful innovations
Protective Camera lens
262 K Colour display
Active Desktop
Camera Flash
Dual Voltage MMC Card. Helps in prolonging the battery talktime.
Complete Office Package ( Word, Spreadsheet, PPT, PDF)
Symbian OS v8.0
I wouldnt say the design is the best but the phone looks sturdy, macho and comes with a aluminium casing. The Lens cover is a bit shaky and you feel it might come off anytime but dont worry it is held in place properly.
The phone package includes a DKU-2 connectivity cable, Stereophonic headset and a MMC adapter for used in USB Readers.
The front and the backlighting of the phone display is one of the best. Finally Nokia is waking upto the likes of Sony Ericsson. They have engineered the phone very well and the display is large enough for you to catch a glimpse of your favorite movie clips if you have GPRS.
Though the phone looks a bit bulky in hand [ Helps if you have a large hand ;) ]
it sits cozily in the pocket and you dont feel the weight even while you speak..
The 1.3 MP Camera with 6x Digital zoom works like a professional Digital Camera.I bet you wont need to carry your digital camera wherever you go anymore..
Now for the disadvantages... ( thought I dont find them a disadvantage)
You cant change the Phone Cover and Panel. So for all of you guys/gals who like to sport a new colour panel on their phone... shoo.. go away.. :)
For those users who are not familiar with the series 60 phones the keys and navigation might seem a little clumsy and take time to get used to..
So would I recommend the Nokia 6681 ?
YES guys .. Go grab it.. No second thoughts.. Unless you have a very compelling reason to buy any of the Series 60 variants ( Nokia 6600, Nokia 6630 etc)
For those of you who might be interested in the price tag.. I am from Bangalore and got it for 18K with bill and warranty(Nokia 6630 here costs 17250 K). Now im talking about the best deal I could get. If you do some smart research you will find that some small dealer in your city will give you the best deal. Dont fall for the big names. Wherever you buy it from the Nokia Care center is the one you will land in , if in case you have a problem tomorrow..
