Nokia 7610

I bought this phone 2 years ago and I should say, it never let me think about buying another phone even though many high profile phones are bombarding the market. The things I liked in this phone are

1. Design & Looks - Though some felt that the design is a bit girly, I love the curvy design on the diagonal ends of the phone. It’s stylish too

   
   




2. Camera - I think this is the first megapixel camera released by Nokia. But according to present day standards, it’s not that attractive. Even then, it should be enough for people who don’t use camera more than the phone itself

   
   




3. Ability to install 3rd party applications - As this phone uses Symbian second edition OS, it’s very easy to install 3rd party applications, games and themes etcetera. Suppose you are not satisfied with the default video player, you can always install 3rd party video player

   
   




4. GPRS & Bluetooth- Internet connectivity is not at all a problem on this phone. You can use it as a modem to connect to your PC. Just install Nokia PC Suite, you will be ready to surf the net. Bluetooth can be handy for quick transfer of files between two capable phones

   
   




5. Battery - The battery performance is just average. But that’s common for a phone with GPRS and such things.

   
   




6. Expandable memory - Memory can be expanded to 2GB or even 4GB if you want

   
   




7. Very sturdy design and durable - I dropped the phone many times accidentally but nothing happened till now

   
   

Like any other, it also has some negatives, like

1. No FM - Not a big problem as FM radios are very cheap and can buy one if needed

   
   




2. No Infrared - Many phones releasing now don’t support this one although it can be used as a remote controller for TVs and etc. So don’t bother

   
   




3. No firmware updates for a longtime from Nokia - It can be seen as positive/negative as in my view, no updates may also mean that the firmware is stable enough

   
   




4. Mono - Sound is mono and so you can’t enjoy stereo. I think this is not a big problem for many as any music lover would go for MP3 players nowadays for better quality and better battery performance

   
   




5. No state of art features - Technology always advances, so no point in discussing this.

   
   

Conclusion

Very good buy if you just want a phone with stylish looks and some good basic features
