Damn good phone... wotta size!

My desire for the phone arose due to it’s advertising by Nokia... there were 8250 ads displayed everywhere!

My decision to buy this came back in March 2001, & I checked out BidorBuy India & found Kishore Mulani (98200 23366) who gave me an unconditional year long guarantee with a bill on the phone. The price paid was Rs. 19200/- all inclusive. I had explained my needs to him & ensured that the phone would be a good buy with at least 3 hours of talk time between charges - something I needed as I’m a heavy user & hate low battery warnings. (I smashed my last phone, a Nokia 8810 - there’s a review for that as well on MouthShut - due to it’s lousy battery performance & overall shittiness)

I had a great time with the phone... my friends all wanted one & the size was fantastic! I would often ’lose’ the phone in my trouser pockets. If they stuck on a loop, you could use this baby as a keychain!

However, within two months, I had to replace the battery, as it was dying in front of my eyes... With Kishore’s advice I went in for the J-2000 which has lasted me with my heavy use (3+ hrs talk per day, full charge overnight, phone always on) till date, over 16 months.

This model is basically an ergonomic & aesthetic upgrade over the 6250 - the buttons are designed to have an easy feel for non-visual use. The colour & intensity of the blue display light vary from phone to phone - I use mine like a torch in situations.

All in all, I would recommend this for the size, reliability & features. It’s memory could be upgraded to the new series (6210 / 7110) to make it absolutely perfect.
