First Real Communicator

I owned this lovely device around 3 years back. It cost me a bomb to buy this phone at that time but was worth every penny. Great Big screen and the biggest keyboard on any smartphone.

This phone was quite unusually shaped but that added to it’s charm. Another peculiarity was the speaker being on the reverse side, so everytime you needed to listen to your call you needed to first accept the call from the keypad side and then put the other side to your ear. Good fun but quite radical.

Battery life was the best I have ever seen on any phone so far. It used to last me a complete working week. Mon to Fri no recharges required. It had GPRS connectivity but that was limited to the the older HSSCD technology and limited the speeds but still worked like a charm.

Overall the phone was good except the fact that it was bulky and heavy to lug around. The OS and the applications used to crash quite often particularly the web browser.

Good phone to own at that time.
