This is my third Nokia Communicator, first ones being the 9210 and the 9500 respectively. After using the communicators it is very difficult for anyone to go back to any other phone. It becomes part of your life so intrinsically that you miss it every time you use any other smart phone.
After my first two communicators I bought a Sony Ericsson P910i for a brief period in between, it is a excellent smartphone no doubt but it still cannot beat the Communicators.
I jumped on the 9300i the moment it was announced that it would have the WIFI, I use it quite frequently and this was the reason I had not bought it earlier.
The form factor , weight and size are all excellent now. It still doesnt have a camera, but I dont miss that often. The WIFI is good (802.11g) 54 MBPS and security. The OS and applications are quite stable and much better than the predecessors. The phone gives 3 days of battery life after average use and finally it has T9 in the SMS part. A welcome addition that was always missing.
The keyboard, the 5 Way Navigation key on front and everything else has been fixed completely. This is a 9500 killer and offers everything the bigger brother does except a VGA camera.
Nokia still does not supply a Carry Case and I really dont understand why.. but nevertheless the 9300i is a great improvement in terms of all those small things that were missing earlier like the WIFI and T9 support and roaming IP support. The Roaming IP support gives you the ability to remain connected to the internet even when you move out of one connectivity option (GPRS) to another (WIFI) or even Edge. The phone automatically connects the available connectivity option to give you uninterrupted connectivity.
Finally a great phone at an good price and good battery life. Only for a Camera and it would have got a perfect 5 from me.
