I had taken E63 in last July and recall having written a review praising this phone. The software that is great - features are good and its easy to navigate and very easy to type and a good value for money.
Now for the cons which I started to find after some months of usage. Aesthetically - the polish started to wear off of the central square button(u can see it shining in the pic). It killed the looks of this phone in 4 months flat. 2 MP camera which is very bad - yes you can say that I knew it before I bought so it may not be counted as a con. It hangs at will - more often when you try to take a call it will hang 1 time out of 20. Either you wait for it to reboot itself or take out the battery, and restart it yourself. Now, off late, I have noticed that to receive 80% of my SMSes I have to switch it off and restart it. I have started doing it atleast 10 times a day now. Also, it has started displaying the SMS sender’s name on its own will - you can see that for the same person listed in the contact book, it will show the name of the sender and in the very next SMS, it will just show the number. - I don’t know if it is because I have about 3500 SMS and a 1000 person contact list but theyshould have informed in any of the manual that we may experience such a problem because of this.
another unrelated point to specifically E63 - you can use either Nokia Suite or OVI. Well, OVI is far worse than the superb Nokia Suite. I could make calls, trf files using Nokia Suite through my computer. OVI has really limited my options - it is very restrictive.
This is only my 3th phone in 9 years, but I plan to replace it very soon.
