TRADITION MEETS FASHION ... TAKE A BOW..!

Nokia’s cracked a winner with this phone. Now, to be honest, I am die hard Nokia fan in love with the simplicity of their designs(except a few, ofcourse) not to mention the robust devices & utility features - in last few years, I have had the pleasure of using 8 Nokia phones starting from my very basic 3310 to the Communicator and still do not hesitate to hoot for them.!

E63 is a handsdown winner folks.! A lot has already been said about its standing against the Blackberry. I have been using the Blackberry Curve for almost two years now so I can safely say that the E63 scores over the former handsdown - it has a much better navigation, better screen resolution, and a better camera(even at 2.0x). Plus, with the Blackberry be sure of having to carry it back to the network provider atleast once a year since the track ball feature is really worse off. I got my BB replaced twice in 2 years. However, i’d notice that the E63 battery cools off a bit faster than usual if I pull my emails on it, but that still gives a good 2-3 days worth of charge, which is not too bad given that I charge my BB everyday.

I also tried my hand at the E71 but finally settled for the E63 & the reasons are not hard to guess -(a) the major differences in the 2 devices include the camera(3.2x for E71), the metallica luster body on the backside, and E71 being GPS enabled. Now, having used a E51 before, I can say that you are actually much better off without the metallic body - saves you a lot more finger prints:) . having said that E63 is atleast 4, 000/- cheaper than the E71. I was more than happy to let go of the E71 since I do not use much of the camera or the GPS - cmon, folks. this is INDIA. Its easier to just pop out your head out of the car and scream where you want to go - that’s GPS on the go.!

Got to admit that I was very tempted by the ultrasleek SE T700 - this is one good looking phone - and has all the features you would need with an inbuilt superb walkman feature - but alas, its not a smart phone. My E63 comes with a free 4GB card so that means plenty of songs. Also, thank You Nokia for the standard 3.50 MM headset socket - I plucked my Sony earphones into my E63 and got my share of music on the move.

Overall - extremely handy/ smart/ no-sense device which offers tremendous value for money.!
