An Outstanding Phone with very few Drawbacks.

Hello MS users,

Before I start my review  i would state that that I am not gonna hurl or throw abuses at any Mobile OS because I understand D hard work that goes into creating an OS and I firmly believe each OS has it’s own pros and cons like windows or iOS might suit me but not the other person.

People like different OS’s according to their own perception and we cant brand them as idiots just because they dont use the OS or Phone we deem perfect. SO HERE GOES MY REVIEW OF MY NOKIA LUMIA 620.

PROS=

  1. Fits in ur palm perfectly unlike some of D bigger phones coming these days( on a funnier note luks  like iphone 3GS frm D front)

  2. Screen is perfect in size nor too big to make it impossible to type and navigate with 1 hand nor too small to make using ITcumbersome.

  3. The screen fluidity , quality and and touch response is simply beautiful, you have to use it to believe it ( I personally have a Sony live with walkman and ray and I simply loved it).

  4. The camera is simply outstanding in its range I mean its the best 5mp shooter out there (i have used SONY Sola, Live with Walkman and Samsung Galaxy S Advance, PLEASE don’t compare it with S2’s 8mp).

  5. In this price range its D only fone that comes with with a front camera for video calling(Htc Desire X, Sony Xperia GO nd Sola dont come with it).

  6. Nokia’s Built quality is the Best And far out guns Sony, HTC, Samsung and Micromax.

  7. Has lots of sensors like Magnetometer, Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Accelerometer (Some of these sensors come in handy while playing games like Asphalt-7).

  8. Nokia’s apps like Nokia city lense, music and city drive are outstanding the offline navigation support is great and Nokia music provides free unlimited downloads for almost a year, their collection of songs is mind blowing

  9. The user interface is blazing fast , smooth and hang and lag free compared to an android. I mean u wont find a huge processing difference between Lumia 920 and 620.( In android I felt there was a certain lag in phones below 18k and you feel the phones hardware letting u down from experiencing the great OS.

  10. Nokia own apps make it a better buy than other Windows phones from samsung and HTC, in fact Lumia 620 and 720 have superior hardware than HTC 8s and from a price point of view they are a better choice than HTC.

  11. You are using the latest OS out there in this price range most of the android in this price range most androids run ginger bread 2.3 or Ice cream Sandwich 4.0 even if some run jelly bean 4.1 they don’t have a great hardware to run it smoothly and many apps on d playstore are not jellybean ready

12.  Reads most Video and audio Formats more than stock android players.

  1. Can Play 720p HD videos smoothly and even 1080 Full HD no android in this price range can do so.

  2. The battery backup is better than most phone in this price range.(7-8 hours of music + 30 mins of net + 1 hour of news reading on my BBC and CNN app battery lasted me 2 days).

15.  Best Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin integration.

  1. Searching for songs, contacts or apps on your phone is much easier than on an android.

  2. E mail integration is the best.

TIME TO KILL SOME MYTH’S AND MISS-CONCEPTIONS REGARDING WINDOWS 8

  1. Whats app works fine + audio and video sharing is possible

  2. You can share Photos, videos, Music via Bluetooth.( 1ST U MUST BE CONNECTED to the other phone).

3.  Most popular apps are there and more are coming every day.

  1. Zune is not required, mass storage mode is supported.

SHORTCOMINGS

1.  Inability to download music + videos from sites other than Nokia music and YouTube but then again even I phone doesn’t have it that’s what makes it a secure platform. (But that’s something Nokia and Microsoft should work on, If Windows 8 can have it why not Windows Phone 8).

2.  Playlists cant be created but u can select songs of ur choice and put them in D Now Playing List. (Nokia and Microsoft should work on this ASAP Come on why should I have to connect my phone to a computer to create a playlist a smartphone should have this basic function android has it heck even symbian S60 had it even Nokia Asha 200 running on Symbian S40 has it, FOR ME its SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTING).

  1. No notification panel ( Microsoft is working on it).

  2. Not many Good 3D games for phones with 512 MB Ram.  Come on Microsoft........... if u wanna compete with iOS and Android u must have good games for all phones.....for crying out loud even simple games like temple run require 1GB ram on Windows, , , , , , , My Old Sony live with Walkman Can run TEMPLE RUN-2 AND TEMPLE RUN-OZ AND IT HAS A SINGLE CORE PROCESSOR, even a IPOD touch 4th Genereation with inferior hardware can play more graphically intense games ON THE GAMES FRONT MICROSOFT HAS SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTED ME (Sure am not a big mobile gamer but one does like to play games with good graphics once in a while).

  3. Their should be a separate option to control levels like ringer.alarm and music.

  4. I personally feel Microsoft can give MORE CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS in the form of more background and tile colour options as well as giving people the option to use their pictures or custom wallpapers as background instead of using standard black or white option and also give the option to make these tiles transparent so that these tiles go with the custom backgrounds.

CONCLUSION

When I jumped on the Windows bandwagon I knew the platforms shortcomings but I wanted to experience something new I was tired of D laggy all the same android interface (not that I hate android it’s a great OS, but I feel its over customized by manufacturers which makes it slow and laggy, I personally like the Nexus series more than any other android phone). Even though it might have its short comings I love my Lumia 620. for any query u feel free 2 ask I check out the review section for Nokia Lumia 620 everyday to read others reviews.

With Regards,

NIKHIL MITHARWAL.
