Not bad for the cost

I bought the ngage QD about two weeks back and so far I have not been disappointed. Apart from the games (which is a secondary attraction to me) the other features have been far more useful.

I bought a 256 MMC card and a card reader to transfer files from my computer.

On Microsoft XP the bluetooth is quite simple to install and share files. Though it did take me a few hours to get the PC suite working. Initially it just refused to detect my phone.

Fortunately somehow I managed to get it working and its great to sync with contacts and calender in my MS Outlook. The PC suite even converts files from other formats into mobile compatible formats such as 3gp etc.

Since it works on a Symbian OS you can install great apps.I have installed Fexplorer (which is freely downloadable and is a must have), Autolock, Blackballer ultramp3, SmartMovie player etc. You can even download Ngage game demos from the net. I downloaded colin mcrae rally and it rocks. Though its a demo version its free.

One bug I have noticed in the phone is that there is a problem with the log. if I get a call at 9:30 the log shows 9:00 (i.e an error of 30 mins). So I usually add 30 mins to the log time. Its not a big deal.

The music quality sucks big time though the speaker quality is great but its just not meant for music. No wonder Nokia does not provide an inbuilt mp3 player. If they did then ppl would have sued then for the poor quality of music. So If you are looking for a music player, buy an iPod instead.
