Good Looks Outside, Bugs Inside

I bought the Nokia N70M end of May 2007 and in just 3 months I am fed up with the bugs and the slowness of the phone. Browsing through the phone menus is pathetically slow unlike the earlier Nokia models which used to base on ease of use. The Music Player takes more than 5 minutes to start up as it processes all the music files on the MMC card, too slow i’d say for a Music Edition Phone.

Many a time the headset which came with the phone doesnt’ function properly. The keys just stop working, some good days they work as if nothing has happened. The music player key at time launches multiple music player apps! So I have 2 playlists being played all of a sudden. Has happened quite a lot of times with me, as I tend to use the keys quite fast.

But the phone has quite a lot of software loaded and be aware that all of it comes in the "available memory" they advertise. So the 1GB card has preloaded applications on it.

I faced another problem wiht the softwares. "LifeBlog" application says that "certificate expired" right from the day I bought the phone. Haven’t got tiem to go to a nokia priority dealer to fix this. In India, we cannot check the phone before buying a sad thing though. hence I ended up with this buggy phone!

If all softwares are based on licenses, then I guess they will expire some day and we will have to pay for re-enabling the licenses.

Sound quality is good for music. But for phone calls it is bad when there is noise all around. This is basically coz the phone speaker is not of very good quality. The headset are average and have quality better than the speakerphone.

It’s a bad deal for the price. wait for the iphone i’d say!
