The biggest single USP of this fabulous phone, in my opinion, is its extra generous 40MB Resident Memory! Youll realize this only if you have used any other S60 phones - especially whilst gaming - run any game on it and it never crashes for lack of memory. Couple this with a liberal 1GB DVRSMMC and you could have a major part of your music collection along with two or three full-length, smartmovies in your pocket - literally!
Add to this the advantage of built-in FM, the crisp photographs you can shoot with it’s 2 Mega pixel Camera with Flash, and the Video-Conferencing capability (thanks to it’s VGA Camera in front) and you have a unique case where supply outstrips demand!
But trust Nokia to ham it up after all – the OS is as slow as they can get. Trying to access a bloated folder with numerous applications could well hone up your coffee-making skills! Mind you, you could still be in time to catch the folder displaying its contents! Wish Nokia could provide the ubiquitous hour-glass – at least one will know that something is going on in the background.
However, giving the Devil his due, if you have the time, then the N70 definitely has the inclination (sorry Titan)! For there are very few things you cannot do with this mean little machine. Shoot a video at VGA quality, edit your Office documents, fill up your Contacts List to your heart’s content, make movies (or muvees if you like) – the list goes on….
Hey – isn’t this a phone review? Sorry, here goes…. crystal clear sound whilst communicating, fantastic ringtone output, user friendly features like speed dialing & voice commands, innovative features like push-to-talk and EDGE assisted high-speed Net browsing.
Can it cook did you ask? No, it certainly cannot – but shhh… don’t let Nokia hear you; for you could well land up owning one which actually does! SOON!
