I had been looking for an upgrade of my sturdy and reliable gem - The Nokia 3310 . for a long time. I was looking for a 3g phone with a camera, wi-fi, bluetooth and other standard features. Chose the N70 amongst the choices I had at that time.
All in all its a good phone with all standard features. FM tuner works well. Could pair my bluetooth headset and/or the laptop quite easily. Calling contacts, grouping contacts, sending b-cards to others are easy. Customizing menu and short-cuts are pretty easy.
The reception is very good, as in most Nokia phones. The battery-backup is pretty good. For me it lasts for 2 days or more(sometimes). The standby battery time is also great. Another good thing is that there are a bunch of handy applications which can be downloaded and used with this phone.
Now about the not-so-good features of the phone. Phone resposiveness is very slow specially while switching to the Messaging menu and reading messages etc.
The speaker quality is not very good while on a call. Another irritating feature of the phone is that once the speaker is activated, it does not remain activated after a call is dropped and hence everytime you make a call, the speaker has to be turned on. It also lacks the volume control buttons on the side of the phone, which is a big minus for me. The camera cover also comes off pretty easily.
Wi-fi is one feature I would’ve definitely like to have on this phone.
All in all a good value-for-money and a useful mobile phone to use and own.
