Probably this is my first review on Mouthshut.I always believe on giving review based on experience and thorough experience only.Well lets get into review:Looks:N80 really attracts on looks. though its pretty bulky compared to other phones, it is one of the stylish phones.. that too with its slide.
Perfect looks and very very sexy(that is very I got fooled). and the black color is too good for the mobile as the outer black with inner light glowing in the night is awesome. I would give it 8/10.Features:Well here is where N80 scores. It’s got everything what a hi-fi mobile has to possess.
You want camera, radio, higher megapixel, dual cam, video conferencing, wifi, gprs, bluetooth, infrared... what not? It comes with a 128mb memory card. Features are too good but the display could have been more.because it is just 2, 62, 000 colors where as other mobiles(in the lower end) has TFT and 10M colors.
I would give 9/10.Functioning:Well, N80 sucks here. On the initial days, you would really enjoy everything. but 15 days or 30 days down the lane, if you send a sms, the phone will literally get hanged and it will resume after 2 mins once the sms is sent. so everytime you got to wait 2 mins to send an sms.
Beware.. you cannot do anything on your phone till then. Maybe remove the battery and try to switch it off because even the switch off button doesn’t work when you are sending an sms.And the phone frequently restarts, All these can be rectified by giving it for a software reinstallation.
But again, after 15-30days same problem persists and Nokia guys are totally aware but unless he gets a better firmware, nothing much can be done.I will give 4/10Value:Well, I bought it for a price of 26, 260 Rs. Considering its features, Yes its a good phone. But problem like sms and frequent restarting has made me really get bugged.
Because spending almost quarter of a lakh on it and its not even doing a basic functioning, then its really not worth it.Nowadays, the slide is getting harder and I push it hardly. dunno when it will let me down. plus I haven’t used the wifi so no comments.But the 3 megapixel cam is outstanding.
It is too good than a digicam. Real clarity and that makes you feel atleast your money is worth atleast for taking snaps apart from regular features like accepting and making calls.5/10Verdict:If you want to buy this phone because its camera clarity is good, then maybe you can go for SONY CYBER SHOT which does its job perfectly and its handy too.
This phone when it gets hanged up for sending an sms and the Indian nation survives on SMS then its real pity to have such a firmware on this phone. My verdict this phone is not worth its money, no matter you pay 26k+ or 13+k(current price and I bought about 9 months back).
You might buy it if you have lot of money and want to try out your luck or have a passion to own all mobiles. Else you are buring your pockets.OVERALL: 3/10
