First of all, the phone is a stunner. great looks and at a seemingly throw away price. Frankly there is nothing wrong with the phone and perhaps nothing right with the manufacturer (or its service). I got the phone in August, 08. In the 1st 3 months it was with the Nokia care (lower parel, Bright Point Nokia care- Believe me the worst place to be on earth apart from some prisons) for a good 2 months. It had a lot of issues. Couldn’t connect to the wireless, the photos I clicked didnt show up in the gallery, nokia map was a sham, whenever I tried opening it, I had to take the battery out cause the phone went in a trance. Then I thought that I got a rotten one and the phone in general might be good. And then after 3 months Nokia replaced my handset with another one which barely seemed new but then I had run out of patience to argue over a better piece.
Here comes the twister. The supposedly new handset all of a sudden didn’t switch on only, 2 weeks after I got it. I have no reasons to think that this is a great mobile phone but might be one of the experimental designs (or beta versions) for other high end phones. (we did see the launch of N96 and the N85. Both of them have looks similar to N81).
My advise for a N81 seeker is don’t touch it, even with a 40 foot pole.
