This is My first Nokia phone. I bought this phone a few days ago. so far I have used 3 Motorolas and 1 LG. I normally I never chose nokia due to its display and slow processing. but this phone the N82 has a great display comparable to Motorola and Samsung. This phone comes with loads of features such a 3g support, Wlan, GPS etc., etc.
Now coming to the performance perspective, the phone’s processing speed is definitely better than other nokia phone. it uses a ARM processor. But its speed still doesn’t match my previous phone(Moto MING). being a first time nokia user I find it a bit difficult to use the UI. this is made much worse by the keypad design. u r sure to get some bumps. but I guess I will get used to the keypad as time goes by.
The feature of this phone is its 5 Mpx CAMERA. Its one of the best available in the market. the camera boot up time is just a few seconds and the saving time is considerably less when compared to the other nokia’s or infact any other brand. This is perfect for point and shoot scenarios. the pics shot by the camera are excellent. The XENON flash is the best by any phone. its very bright. it also takes its toll on the battery. but I managed to get a decent 1 full day with heavy usage(i never got a full day with heavy usage on my MING).
This phone also shoots video in very good quality in QVGA resolution.
The layout of the speakers is bad. both the speakers are located on the same side!. I don’t know how it would deliver a stereo effect! the earphone provided doesn’t have the play/pause, ff, keys like the N70’s. but the sound quality throught is good. especially with stereo widening turned on.
Most of the other features are the ditto as the other nokia N series phones. The same old UI layout. same old features.
I would say it is a great bet for its money.
