I bought a steam iron 3 yrs. back (Black & Dekker ) , and now I regret why I went for it. The plus points for a steam iron is it irons better when you switch on the steam option, but after a couple of years the insides get rusty and scales form inside and they start coming out through the holes in the iron and dirty your white clothes and stain it with rust. I even tried using specific De-Scalers for irons, available in our UAE markets and still the problem persists. So now I have switched off the steam option and I use a small spray can made up of plastic, which you use to spray water on the leaves of the garden plants , to spray water on the clothes , first before ironing them. It works fine and a normal iron is cheaper too. Now I notice many steam iron users have the same complaint.
