A Great Airline

Northwest Airlines is a great airline. It has link with KLM. Last year in July we had visited USA to stay with our daughter, who lives in Ossining, a New York suburb. From Calcutta we flew by KLM to London and then to Amsterdam and there we changed to Northwest. We found that everything from leg space to cabin service, was better than that in KLM. We arrived New York in the evening, and were received by my daughter, son-in-law and their daughter. When I went to the Baggage Claim Area, I found that one of our suitcases was missing. So, we went to the missing baggage area of Northwest and filled up certain forms , our address in USA, and so on. The Lady at the Counter said that loss of baggages was very common with Northwest and in most cases the baggages are traced and delivered to the passengers within forty-eight hours. She further said that your Baggage Tag shows that you have boarded KLM at Hithrow, London, and perhaps all the baggages were not loaded there. The Lady again asked David to let her know where the baggage is to be delivered, if it is received late at night.

We went to Ossining, forgetting for a while about the missing baggage. Had a cup of hot soup and went to bed. The next day we took it easy, and in the evening David, our son-in-law, took us in his boat to the Hudson River, from where we saw the show of Fireworks on the eve of the American Independence Day. It was a fantastic sight. The next morning, around six, when David opened the door he found the suitcase there. It was delivered in the record time of 36 hours. So, here is an instance of the efficiency of Northwest . Next time I fly to USA, I shall ask my Travel Agent to book me by Northwest .
