The Airline With A Heart

Northwest Airlines has a big heart! They have two hub cities, Minneapolis and Detroit.

They fly trans-border, international and domestic routes. I have only flown on them, trans-border and on their domestic routes.

There food and seats are the same as other airlines that originate in the United States. They always have enough booths open, so you can check-in quickly. They have the friendless staff, (both at the check-in counter and on board the aeroplane), than any Unites States Airline.

.:Why They Have A Heart:.

Connections:

If you are connecting from one NW flight to another, at their hub cities, they will keep the flight you’re connecting to, on the ground for one hour, to wait for you.

If your flights don’t connect, and you are on a trans-border or international flight, they will give you a free hotel room. The airport is near the Mall Of America, (the second largest Mall in the World.

Seniors:

Seniors can buy a book of tickets, up to 10 flights, for the cheapest fare NW has. So when they have a seat sale, a senior doesn’t have to rush to try and get a ticket at that price. It’s hard to imagine that from western Canada, the seniors will fly east to go to the southwest part of the United States, but they do, because of the pre-booked flights.

Travel Industry:

Any time a travel writer, travel agent or a tour operator has to attend a travel conference, show or appear on TV, NW flies them to that city for free. I when to NY City to do a half hour TV show, and to Kansas City, Salt Lake City and to Detroit for shows.

Epcot Centre, (at Disney Word):

There is a Canada area here. They ran out of information on West Edmonton Mall. It costs a fortune to send boxes of brochures across the border. I phoned up the NW Manager, in Edmonton, and he had one of his staff pick up the boxes, and fly them to Orlando, Florida for free.

Make A Wish:

Make A Wish is a foundation that helps children who are dying, have one last wish granted. NW Airlines is the only United States Airline that participates in this program.

A lot of children wish to see West Edmonton Mall. NW Airlines flew a child and his parents, from Boston, who was dying of lung cancer, to see the Mall.

Another child from Chicago wanted to swim with the dolphins, (at that time there were 4 now there is only 1 left). That child was granted his wish. We heard he died one week after he returned home.

I could go on and on, but I believe while I was Director of Tourism for West Edmonton Mall, NW flew over 50 children and their families to see WEM.

It is impossible to describe a Mall that is larger than 50 soccer fields, in 1000 words, if you would like to see it, here is the link:

.:My Conclusion:

The next time you are travelling, and a Northwest fight is available, I hope you will take it.
