This is my first review in this excellent world of Mouthshut. Before purchasing any product I read the reviews on Mouthshut and it was quiet useful. Let me start my review on this excellent product.
Yes indeed its an excellent cooling machine. Before landing into one of the O’’General showroom, I have visited all other showrooms and seen demo of all other machines like LG, Samsung, Hitachi, Voltas etc., Even though OG is bit expensive when compared to its rivals( It is not fair to compare any other AC with this ) it attracted me on the first look itself. All other dealers insisted me to buy an 1.5ton AC, but OG dealers confidently told me go for this one ton machine and they given me the assurance as well. The earlier models of OG does not have remote and only had mechanical thermostat. This model comes with an remote and with digital thermostat. There is a convenient LCD display available on the remote on which u can set the temperature you require, set the ON/OFF timer, start/stop the AC, sleep operation. The highlight of this AC is the ’’Super Wave Technology’’. With this super wave ON, it completely covers the nook and corner of the room. Its better to say it oscillates to a full complete 180 degrees.
I purchased this on Feb 2005. They delivered the product on time and the installation was done satisfactorily. I live in one of the most humid part of the country, Chennai and my flat is in the first floor. Normally my room temperature will be around 33 to 35 degrees. Once I switch on the machine it takes three minutes for the compressor to start( this is set as a safety measure). Once the compressor started it just took 20 minutes to bring down the temperature to 24degrees. I used to run the AC for around 6 hours per day and the average current it consumes is .75 units per hour.
I should not forget to tell about the service backup. Its amazing. I had few queries and the service engineer who came to my place could not answer to few questions. They promptly called me back next day to answer my questions. Also they called me after 15 days of Installation to check whether everything is smooth with the AC and am I comfortable with the product. If you are going for an AC, just don’t see any other brand. This OG 1Ton with remote is real value for money and you will recover the money in terms of your electrical bill when compared to other AC’s.
