It gets really hot in Mumbai during summers and survival without an air conditioner is almost impossible. So we bought the O General 1.5 tonne, Window AC. My mom was of the opinion that this brand has been in the market for very long and we should buy only O General.
Yes, because of its firm feet in the market, the AC is very expensive. But is it even good? The answer is a big NO! The AC doesn’t keep up to its reputation in the long run and results into various problems in due course of time. Their servicing isn’t great either. Problems like negligible cooling, compressor issues, loud noise, high power consumption, and other failures just made us realize what a waste it was to invest into this AC.
Talking about the service, on purchase, three free services were offered that had to be redeemed within 1.5 years. When you call them for service, their engineers won’t turn up on the time specified. Also, you cannot repair the AC with the help of a local repair service, because this will nullify the warranty give. In short, you have to wait for an indefinite amount of time and suffer in the hot, until the busy engineers find time from their busy schedule to help fix your AC.
