I had visited Oberon Mall couple of months back. I had gone there with great expectations. But after seeing the mall most of the expectation fell flat. One is the location of the Mall. Currently it is not a very crowded road or a part of the city where people would like to hang out. Also it is not a very regular bus route especially in the evening. You can go there only if u hav a vehicle. ppl who hav seen forum in blore and spencer in chennai will definetly admit that compared to them the location advantage is less for Oberon Mall in cochin.
Secondly the shops, when I went there the major shop there was Relianz Trends. I would say the shopping experience there was a disaster. The choices in salwar were pathetic enough and I thought I will purchase something for my hubby atleast as the apparels would be branded. But there also the choice was not good. With much difficulty since I went there I manage to take one salwar and one shirt for my hus. Also the salwars I felt were hugely over priced. If you are in cochin you dont need to go Oberon Mall when u have immense choices in the city itself. Most of the branded merchandise has a showroom in MG road. Also shops like Seemati, Jayalekshmi, Kalyan, Alukkas etc.. offer more variety as well as value for money compared to Reliance Trendz
In the end there was a cafe coffee day shop with only a selective Menu. We came out of the mall in ard 1.5 hr which was not what I expected.
To all those who want to try this out. You cannot shop ther, it is too costly and maybe suited for very high class people
There is nothing much for you to enjoy there also. Maybe it will change once multiplex comes
Also the transport is difficult if you dont have ur own vehicle.
