After hearing from few of our friends who had visited ocean park few years ago and after a brief review on the internet, we decided to plan a visit to ocean park, hyderabad on 23rd may 2010. This place has other resorts around it too. From the outside, it looked a nice weekend to spend. At the entrance there was no mention that the park is totally under renovation. We were informed at the ticket counter that the swimming pool and the rain dance only were working. We still decided to go for it assuming that even these would fine as a picnic spot with the greenery around. But we were taken in for a shock therapy.
There was literally no greenery around the pool or the rain dance area, they were right under the scortching sun. The changing room was atleast 200 meters away from the swimming pool and rain dance without any shelter. It was a sad pligh to watch the children and others walk (some of them barefooted) in the hot sun and with sharp stones all around. In the children area(where only ladies and children were allowed), the pool was filthy with algea floating around and a thick layer of fungus around the wall of the pool and floor. This place is a health hazard as the entire place is littered with dismantled items of the park. Infact, the management was being too greedy not to close the park. It is a shame that nobody look into this sorry state of affairs.
Food is just as pathetic as the place itself. We were told that this state would continue for another six months alteast but going by the current state, we have vowed never to visit this place again.
