Raise a toast to Danny Ocean and his croonies.
They have arrived in Vegas and they have arrived in style. Only this time, this Band of Boys have joined hands with their nemesis Terry Benedict(Andy Garcia) to avenge the dumping of Reuben Tishkoff, one of the Oceans(original) Eleven.
The reason - Revenge
The target - Willie Bank(Al Pacino)
The steal - The Bank(latest casino on the Las Vegas strip)
The catchline - Revenge is a funny thing.
The game is set and the dices roll, the coins begin to fall in the slots and the roulettes also roll.
Steven Soderbergh, the creator of Oceans Eleven and Oceans Twelve, strikes back with the thrid installment of this heist-flick that has class, elegance and panache written all over it.
Right from the first scene of the movie, where Brad Pitt walks out at the airport tarmac to the sweeping shots of Vegas to the split-screen shots of the heist, the film has Steven Soderbergh stamp on every frame. After watching this movie, you really wonder if this was the same guy who directed "The Good German".
Another aspect of the Oceans Series that ahs fascinated me is the soundtrack. David Holmes has continued to a fantastic job with the music of the film and he has delivered another super coooool soundtrack for Oceans Thirteen as well.
Performances in this movie or rather series is all about looking stylish, talking great and being the superstars they are. And everybody in the movie is just too talented to let something like this go by. George Clooney leads the pack followed by Brad Pitt and Matt Damon and everybody else. Al Pacino as the wily Willie Bank is mean and smart. He is great.
Photography is just ice cool. The colors of Vegas have been captured flawlessly by the lensman.
All in all - a great movie indeed.
P.S. Watch it after a beer, you will like it even more.
