High profile burglary movies are thrilling. In the US, one of the banks have a commercial of a guy waiting in line at the bank teller’s counter. While he waits, he sees the bankers open the safe and day-dreams about a high-fi-Hollywood-ishtyle bank robbery that he commits.
When its his turn at the counter, the guy snaps out of his dream. The teller asks him how much money he would like to withdraw and the guy gives this sly smile. (Hang in there, I am getting to the point!) This commercial is so awesome cause am sure each one of us has fantasized about pulling off a super-brainy, one-in a million ideas of making some quick bucks.
Thankfully we don’t act on it. But that’s also why hollywood movies based on high-profile burgleries are a big success.....they are not about the robberies, but the brain behind it! Ocean’s twelve is captivating in this sense. It does a good job at that, just like its prequel.
The Story
Danny and Tess(Clooney and J.Roberts) are happily remarried for 3 yrs when Andy Garcia shows up at their doorstep demanding his money back. But Alas, the XI have already sun k into the cash and spent quite a bit of it. They have to thus put their heads together to pull off another trick to arrange for the money for this pay-up.
Since America is still hot on their pursuit, its gotta be a foreign location. As this happens, another famous thief the Night Fox, wants to play mind games with Ocean to see who is better at it. The target is a famous Faberge Egg from the Romanoff Dynasty. On winning this game, the team will have enough money to pay back Benedict(Garcia). Thus begins the plans and to add to troubles, Brad Pitt’s ex-girlfriend, Catherine Zeta Jones-a cop is on a hunt for him. Will they pull off this one too is what the rest of the movie is about.
The plot
Well, it may not be ingenious like the one before, but this is still a damn good plot, it will keep you occupied. There is never a dull moment. Look out for Julia Roberts having to have to play herself and is caught by Bruce Willis(playing himself).Its amusing :-)
The Review
Well, there is nothing to comment about the cast, its already a known fact they fit the roles like in the previous movie. Only this time around Clooney is hotter so is Pitt :-) The climax is quite interesting(although I wasn’t surprised).
I would definitely vouch to watch it once. Like I mentioned earlier, its not boring. On the ending note, they linger on the thoughts of having another part to this movie. I guess we will have to wait to see if that happens.
Overall, this movie gets a thumbs up from me.
