Well, the monsoons may be drawing to a close , however the onslaught of the irritating , unrelenting mosquitoes is far from over, out here in Kolkata.Still I have survived it, want to guess why?...Not because of good night or mortein mats and coils but because of The new Odomos.

HOW DOES IT WORK
A mosquitoes main weapons to detect us are their odour sensing stimuli. So, basically they sniff us out. New Odomos has N, N-Diethyl Benzamide which masks the different smells our bodies emit and one is effectively invisible to the mosquito. Both the mosquito and the concerned person are unharmed. Most mats and coils on the other hand depend on allethrin, got from Pyrethrum an insecticde plant, very commonly used for such purposes.
How safe is it?
1.It has had a very good safety profile for the last 3 decades, no adverse reactions have been noted according to most sources.
2.Dermal absorption studies reveals that theres no absorption of the cream directly to our blood stream, which is a huge plus, as most anti-insect creams are known to have some or the other negative effect , healthwise. No such thing here.
3.IIT, Mumbai after extensive testing concludes it is not toxic and clearly states that it offers good protection for 8 hours.
OTHER STUFF FOR YOU
WHY ODOMOS WHEN THERE ARE MATS, COILS AND SPRAYS?
1. Well, its a welcome respite for those allergic to chemical fumes, i certainly feel totally asphyxiated under such circumstances or those with lung problems, so one can do away with coils and sprays without ado even if you dont want to do away with mats.
2. If you do consider long term costs of mats after the initial investment over the repellant machine, as compared vis -a -vis to Odomos with Odomoss lasting time as the criteria for comparison, Odomos would be the victorious one by a long way.
3. I read somewhere that allethrin has a tendency to dgrade when exposed to light, Odomos being contained in an opaque tube wont be subject to any such side effects, even if it were susceptible. Besides, inhalation of allethrin is known to cause reproductive disfunctioning, cancer and also hampers development.
4.The best thing is that it can be used at any time and any place, even outdoors where you might not be carrying a matchstick or lighter or where there are no plugpoints.Odomos then saves the day in such cases.
5. No irritating odour anymore, the latest version smells of something like flowers, and such a smell lingering after applying, Im sure is always welcometo most.
6. Not sticky, very much like your average creams one must be using in any case when you talk about the feel of it.In the sense you wont feel it is some chemical product made to serve the purpose it does. That makes use of any product always more acceptable.
CIRCUMSTANCES OF USING EFFECTIVELY
The user must apply Odomos completely to all exposed areas where you are being stung or are liable to be stung. You have to apply it in areas adjacent to that of concern as well since the insect repellant works to make you invisible to mosquitoes and is only effective against mosqitoes for only a little distance way from where its applied. So, unless you want to give it a new site to bite do as I say.Mosqutoes can bite through clothes as most of us Indians must very well know so dont expect the mosquitoes not to irk you just because you are not in your birthday suit. So, kindly apply it before wearing anything and taking it from there you should be alright. And this is for old users of Odomos, do apply it to your face without hesitation. When I say it serves like a cream, it really does .The tenderness or roughness of your skin there wont be disrupted by any stretch of your imagination. There is not much to using it really, everyone knows how to apply a cream on their skins, Im sure!
SOME ADDITIONAL HEART-TO-HEART TALK
1.I have used the older version of Odomos as well and I suppose it wasnt a repellant-cum-skin cream.Too much of it used to make the skin oversensitive indeed. However, the new Odomos serves both purposes pretty well.
2.What was worst about the old Odomos as was the awful odour(like something toxic......something bad).Theres a world of difference in the new Odomos from this point of view, a very pleasing fragrance one must say.
3.It definitely has no side effects at all. The skin status remains intact no matter how much you apply it, which has been a good enhancement.
4.And of course the main thing, one can feel its immediate efficient action, compared to the somewhat gradual one of mats and coils. So, you see it is definitely a product well worth its price and weight.
5. I guess its only con is that it has to be applied again after around 10 hours to maintain effectiveness. So, probably not the ideal panacea for areas totally infested with these brats, say Asansol in West Bengal for instance.
6. However, I wont advise you to keep mats totally out of the equation as they can be really useful if you want to eliminate hordes of neverending mosquitoes, like ive seen sometimes, when Odomos wont be that effective. In most situations it rules though! But throw away the sprays and coils to avoid suffocation and paroxysms.
Do try it though.Works wonders in most places and in most areas. You wont regret the decision.
