Greek tragedy at its best!

I read this play in my English class and it was nothing like I expected it to be. You know, Greek tragedy is nice but is quite often boring and hard-to-understand, but the translation by Bernard W.M. Knox is excellent and it makes reading much more easier. The story is basically about Oedipus, the central character, who unknowingly kills his father and marries his mother. It forces us to really think about Oedipus’ crime, or if it was really a crime. I think this is an excellent play. In order to get a better understanding of the play, I would recommmend one buy Harold Bloom’s Review on the book.
