A couple of days back I took 2 of my guests for buffet dinner to Ohri’s 70MM restaurant (desinged on bollywood theme )located on the banks of a local lake on Necklace Road, Hyderabad.
It was a bit courageous on my part to opt for this restaurant though my earlier experience was not that good here.
I was under the false impression that Ohri’s must have improved upon the deficiencies by now. But no, a big no as the quality of food was still atrocius and service by the staff was slow and unprofessional. Food choices were very limited in the buffet spread and quality as well as presentation was below par as far as Ohri’s benchmark.
It seems they treat this place as a training platform for newly appoined staff as they were totally blank about the rendereing of services like filling up the empty food containers, bringing fresh n hot breads like Naan Roti’s etc. The famous Hyderabadi Biryani was cold and stale. Shortage of crockeries added to the woes of all the guests. Plastic spoons were made available for Icereams n deserts.
The bald n rotund floor manager kept shouting at his own staff instead of arranging to fill empty food trays. No, this place is much much below Ohri’s standards and they have simply wasted the sceneic location, nice ambeince and delightful bollywood songs from old film. The basic purpose of having good food in a restaurant is lost here at Ohri’s 70MM .
