Ola cabs is an app based A.C. taxi service provider. I have tried it out many a times in Kolkata, and the pros and cons of Ola Cabs are as follows: -
Pros:
- The concept is excellent, wherein your location is tracked through GPS and a taxi nearby you can be booked. No more khit pit with the taxi driver as you need not mention the destination beforehand.
Cons:
It is too damn expensive when compared to similar service providers like Uber, TFS, Meru etc.
While booking, I have faced a lot of problems in terms of the driver’s willingness to come to pick u if they are a bit far from you. They make excuses like it will take atleast an hour to come. so that the customer himself cancels the ride.
The promo offers are very bad in comparison to Uber.
The minimum fare is Rs.100, which is again very high.
The customer care centre is not at all at par. My free ride wasnot applied owing to Ola’s fault. I called up the customer care and guess what they advised me. Please pay in cash now. We will try nd figure out next time:(
I recommend to use Ola only in times of urgency. Otherwise, you may use Uber which is way better and cheaper than this.
