Let me first explain the trip details for the following booking id: CRN: 21234256.
The cab was booked for 6.30 PM from Sector 135 Noida to Sector 50 Noida on 17th Dec.Now, the cab arrived late by 20 mins and reached the site at 6.50PM.
I boarded the cab within 5 mins and the journey commenced. We reached the destination at 7.40PM travelling 16.7Km.
Now as per this details the bills should be, INR 100 for first 4kms, and INR 10/km for 12.7Km amounting to INR 127. Total=227+50( for some convenience)= INR 277.
While the bill showed INR 355, which was a difference of INR 78. I was surprised and called up OLA customer care who informed me this was due to waiting time of 39 mins. OLA charges INR 2 / min on waiting so it came to INR 78.
When I explained that this was not possible, the customer representative was arguing that since the cab was booked for 6.30 so, there is a waiting time of 20 mins and there was in-travel waiting time of 19 mins.
So, totally 39 mins of waiting time. The explanation being ridiculous, I tried to reason with him that the cab itself came at 6.50 and I had no control over that.
After much arguing he waved off the INR 50 convenience fees and arrived at a figure of INR 355-50= 305. I did not accept it since it was totally ridiculous.
He then tried to explain that the cab waited for 39 mins in travel, which was not possible according to me, since the total travel time was 7.40-6.50PM= 50 Mins and by his logic of 39 mins wait time, it concluded that I traveled 16.7 KM in 50-39mins= 11mins which gives the cab a speed of 16.7KM/11mins=~91 KM/hour. 91KM/hour during Noida’s peak hour of 6.30-7.30 PM is only possible in someone’s stupid dream.
I decided not to pay and paid INR 277 which seemed the right amount. The customer rep then called up the driver and said that the extra money will be deducted from the driver’s salary! How stupid is that!
Firstly, they have a buggy software that calculated travel fees incorrectly and then when they could not convince the customer to pay, they charge the amount from the poor driver!
I hereby take a vow never to travel again in this totally cheater cab service and recommend same to my fellow travelers.
