I am using Ola cabs since long. Although a good car service you can not always rely solely on them. I had many good journeys with Ola. Most of the time their car and drivers are fine.
But if you think that you have the option of Ola whenever you need is not always correct.
Once I was returning from a Wedding Ceremony it was about 10 PM in the night. I thought that Ola will be available in no time. But to my surprise my phone’s battery almost drained to bare minimum but no cabs were available. I had to wait on the road for 45 minutes before getting a bus.
Another instance is that on occassions and prime times you will have to pay a lot more. I can understand that they are no charity and are here to make money. But increasing price 300 percen is not acceptable.
This one is a mixed experience. Couple of months ago I booked Ola Outstation with their first outstation offer. I saved a lot of money. I got confirmation of Booking inmediately. Then an hour before journey they sent me the driver details. I was relieved because a long journey needs lot of planning and preparation. I didn’t called the driver because I thought everything is fine. Half an hour before I called him to ask where he is. He made up a story and told me to cancel the ride. I was bewildered as where to find a new car for such a long journey all of a sudden. But Ola care really helped me. They sent me another cab although I was a bit late on my journey. Nevertheless the second driver was very good in his driving skills as well as courteus.
Therefore I would only advise my fellow travellers to fully reap the benifits of Ola but at the same time stay alert and keep other options handy.
