Cabs are the first thing that you go for in an unknown city. The local drivers may try to get high fares from tourists and because of that people started trusting online cab services. Ola has been said to provide great service. On a recent visit to Calcutta I hired an ola cab to go to the railway station. The Ola application is pretty good and you can easily book a cab. I booked a cab and waited for him to turn up for atleast 15 minutes. The app can help you to track the booked cab. The cab driver did not turn up. Instead he called and said that he can’t come to the said pickup location and I should walk over for atleast 10 minutes and go to the location where he was. The pickup location where I stood was a perfect place and many used to get cabs from there itself. Since I had a train to catch I walked over to him. The worst thing is that the app shows you an estimate rate of your trip. It showed me Rs. 240-251, which is a fine rate. After reaching the station he charged me with Rs.350 because his( driver’s) ola app was showing Rs.350. I was astound but paid him as I had no other option. The service was very bad. The transportation quality was just ok since the car was in good condition. The tour operator was not at all helpful. I felt cheated and I never recommend this cab service.
