The Grand daddy of The Tajmahal

Guess what is the grand daddy of The tajmahal.   Clues............

It was built by a Lady.

In memory of her Husband.

It was her son who did the building for her.

Final clue......Its in New Delhi near to Nizamuddin.

Its Humayun’s Tomb right in the centre of Delhi...

It has a long history. No queues to get in to see it.

Its well maintained unlike many other monuments in India.

No beggars around. No touts or hawkers.

A really pleasant experience, it was to go and see it, know about its history.

I would recommend it to anyone who visits Delhi.

Most importantly, this was the building the tajmahal was based on...no one tells you that but the minute you see it..you will know.

Its better maintained because Agha Khan trust also looks after it in addition to ASI.

There are water ways, fountains inside.Small parks, huge trees and pathways to spend your time once you are inside.i.e after you are finshed with the monument.

I think this is the only monument where a barbers tomb is in a prominent place.

All said an impressive visit.
