Hemingway's masterpiece

One of the best things about Hemingway is writing style lacks flowery prose as Victorian novelist have and still it have the surreal quality of touching the depths of human heart, and not even a single word is wasted. At places Hemingway deliberately leaves few things unsaid but it doesn’t mean it will remain unnoticed by the reader.

Old man and the sea s Hemingway’s simplest novel and  still you will be hooked from the first page to the last and it will be really hard to leave this in between.

Even though all of Hemingway novels are simple on the surface still unlike For whom the bell tolls and sun also rises, which defines psychological and personal complexity beneath the surface, Old man and the sea is truly simple.

It is a story of an old man who is a fisherman by profession and one day ended up catching a humongous marlin but fails to bring it to the market. Still in between his battle with the fish and failure to bring it to the market shows human will to refuse to give in to the challenges this world throws at him.

And the idea that human beings can be shed into pieces, destroyed, but cannot be defeated is just beautifully captured.I will highly recommend you to read it atleast once in your lif time.
