I recently purchased a battery for my Honda Civic from Olympia Honda in Chennai. As I could not move my vehicle due to my discharged battery I requested them to send someone over with a battery to replace it. Which they did. However before sending it they insisted that I pay by Cash even though I have paid them in the past by cheque for another honda that I maintain with them.
In any case, they delivered and installed the battery. As I was handing over the cash I asked them for a bill or receipt as I will need it to exercise my warranty in case I need it. I was told the bill will be sent later. I asked for at least a receipt indicating that Rs. 7500 cash was paid to them. They told me about how they cannot do so as "their systems work differently".
After their technicians left, I get calls asking for my VIN number and Engine number. Everytime they would call when I was in meetings and ask me to get this number to them. I recieved 3 such calls. Finally I got their number and told them I would call them back with the details. I then called back from the car and spoke to their Service Manager Venkat and read out the details which he took down.
This was more than 10 days ago. I am yet to receive the bill for my battery. I was appalled at the attitude of these people who were so unprofessional that they could not take the VIN and Engine No. details when they came to install the battery. They insist on making me look for the number on the car and give it to them - inconsiderate of the fact that I might be in meetings or otherwise busy.
To top it all off, they dont send me the bill even after 10 days. When it comes to payment however, I had to pay in cash even though I have been a regular customer of theirs for the past 3 years.
Suffice it to say, I will not be going back to Olympia Honda in Chennai ever for my service needs.
