Indian cuisine consists of so many different foods and dishes of India that one can expect more and more in every region. The food is characterized by the use of spices, herbs, vegetables and oil. I cook Persian food back home as I learnt it from my grandparents. Once outside I love to try other cuisine that our country has to offer!
One fine day Sakshi came up with the plan of visiting Om! I was a bit skeptical as I rarely find places which serve excellent veg food, moreover being a non-veggie for decades makes it even tougher to zero in on one. I was very much thankful to her after having great experience at Om!
Om is right in Raheja Arcade, Koramangala located next to Gramin! The seating arrangement is well kept downstairs. Its a small place with a capacity for 50. The first floor is a problem for anyone above 53. I banged my head twice on a cushioned wall while trying to crawl in. Maybe that’s why it was cushioned;) Once inside the height is maintained to 60.
The sevice is friendly although one might have to remind them just in case the place is crowded. A smile makes a difference! The lady who sits at the cash counter(owner) has a cheerful smile.
The typical Thali(120 bucks) consists of Roti, Dal Kadhi, Rice, and three different Sabzi(combinations of vegetable) which vary every day. Every item is unlimited, excluding the starter and sweet dish. The starters are delicious as well. The Poha sev(Rs 50) and Khichdi(Rs 65) are outstanding. The sweets are well done and almost perfect! Do note that this place does not serve any sugar-loaded drinks like Coke/ Pepsi etc! In favor theres an option of having Chaas or Jal Jeera which isnt bad at all. The veg Kebab platter(if I could call it so) is outstanding and large for 100 bucks! Depending on a given familys tastes as well as the region one comes from - this place is a must visit! I hope the prices don’t shoot-up anymore and more guys n gals flock in!
All the best Om! Cheers!
