I was really waiting for nearly two months for this movie because I liked the sound tracks of this movie. And I was planning to watch this movie on the first day itself and luckily I got the tickets for the first day first show itself.
Now about the movie. First of all I would like to say is that , please dont go with the story because that part is some what repetitive. Farah Khan, the director and the story writter for this movie have given only little effort for her story, but for the direction I would like to give full marks.I really appreaciate her for that.
The Strong points for this movie is the Direction, Art Direction, Music (background also) , Cast(SRK and deepika(the 70 version) are damn good.
I’ll cover each portion one by one
The Direction : Farah Khan, her second movie after Main hoo Na. She has enjoyed making this movie, and that is very visible in this film. Infact she is also appearing for one scene with SRK.No Flaws in direction at all. Ya but the story was somewhat boring in the second half mid (When Om releases about his past life) which was some what very disappointing.
Apart from that she has taken care of each and every thing.Songs are very situational and colourful (thanks to Art director Sabu Cyril) . And I should appreciate her jesture for bringing all her team members to the screen at the end of te film for the credits.
Art Direction : Super Sets for each and every songs. I liked the Set for "Main Agar Kahoo". Really fantastic and the set was helping a lot to give a very good romantic touch for that song.
And the other sets for "Dard-E-Disco" was very apt for an item song which was performed by SRK himself.
The first half of the movie is actually happening 30 yrs ago , so the 70’s look and touch was very vital for this movie, which Sabu Cyril has done with perfection. The Cars, the people, the sets are worth watching.
Music : Vishal and Shekhar has already rocked whole India with their wonderful music. My Fav tracks are Main Agar Kahoon, Ajab Si, Dard-E-Disco, Dastaan. Dastaan is a perfect composition for a revengful Climax. And they have also used the singers very carefully. If you realize , each song is sung by different singers. I think only Sunitha Chouhan is repeating. Full Marks for the Music and Background Score by Sandeep Chawhan.
The Cast :
The character of OM can be done only by one actor , SRK .
SRK is rocking in this movie and both his roles the 70’s Om and 2007 Om is too good. And once again he has proved that he is the King Khan and the Youth Icon. His 6 Pack has become famous by this time and that is worth watching in Dard-E-Disco Song.
Deepika Podukone : No one will tell that this is her first movie, because with the grace and maturity she has played this role , iam pretty sure that each and every people who are coming for this movie will love it. She is damn good on screen and she is a good pair to SRK.
Arjun Rampal : Grt Villain but very repetetive character. Nothing special.
Other Casts : Oh man if I list the other cast who has played in this movie, I have to write each and every person in Bollywood Film Industry. From Rajesh Khanna to Hrithik Roshan is there in this movie. So you better watch it .
I Think I have covered a lot of things in this movie. Now i’ll give you a over all review. As I have said, you can leave the story part, because in the trailers they themselves are giving a clear idea about the story. But this movie is having a very surprising climax, worth watching !!
Romantic scenes are marvelous, and songs are very situational and I think the director, the cast has given more importance to the songs.
Another speciality is Cinematography, he has done it too differently. I’ll tell you one example. In no movies, the back part of the area where the shooting occurs will be visible. But in this movie they are giving an idea that how they are shooting the movie. Its definitely a different kind of film making. And i’m sure that most of the audience will like it.
And i’m not telling you that all the people will like this movie, because it depends on how the audience will take it. And for me, I liked every thing in this movie espect the story part, which was a bit boring and repetitive.
