Sceptical to watching big budget movies, especially those which are advertised to the x extent, I somehow managed to get coaxed into watching Om Shanti Om by my family. Failed twice to get the tickets...what in this age of multiplexes the black marketstill going strong thanks to the millions of hindi film fans .....i finally got the tickets and sat down fo the ordeal.
The movie started and slowly caught my interest.....the plus points in short being as below. SRKs performance---though I am no fan at all of the King khan and hated the 6 pack ads --i would definitely not hesitate to compliment the performance given by him..
The plot though not so strong and acceptable...still when u r oing for a movie...entertainment is what u want....and that is all what the movie gives u throughout....
The music....some songs are better when viewed and others are audibly also quite good though not in the cateogory of Farahs Main Hoon Naa...but still not bad...still overall --GOOD.
The starcast...Deepika...never appealed in ads nor in Karan s Coffee show..but somehow looks fascinating within the movie...the other starcast is also not bad and neither are the performances...The glitter and glamour of the movie takes the cake of the big budget movies. The entertainment factor stands atop, again as in Farahs --Main Hoon Na..The 70s have been beautifully portrayed....maybe the younger part of our generation might not be too aware of the same....
I mean when I go for a movie I go for pure entertainment and within that levels the movie is very nicely made...a mix of all emotions and actions, ..a clean decent movie......give or take a few flaws here and there.....if u see them with a magnifying glass...the main reason the movie did not appeal to many is the vast publicity given before the release ...which raises the public expectation to extreme levels ....i for my part went in the theatere with least of my expectations and thoroughly prepared to be bored ....and hence I got more then I expected....so probably it is more of a physiological disaster then an actual one...
Personally speaking in the least of words spoken "I LIKED ""OM SHANTI OM""" "
