I flew Oman Air on the 1 of October 2007, to Dubai from Muscat,
and I must say that has toped the list for the worst airline I have ever been
on.
I was traveling with my wife and two young children and as many may know
traveling with children is already hard enough.
Upon arrival at the airport I just had bad feeling, as I was sitting there
watching an entire 737s passengers lining up at on check-in counter. I was
shocked as I was planning to spend some time in the airport but by the time we
had our bags on their way the flight was already boarding. We rushed to the
gate, and where then told that the aircraft needed some repairs and that we may
"slightly" delayed. "Slightly" turned out to be three hours
and a half!
The cabin crew lady at the door smiled and greeted us as we entered but the
other cabin crew couldn’t care less about us, and seemed more interested in the
latest gossip than the passengers.
The entertainment system was also very bad, with small screens
which came down after takeoff, you would think that they would show a movie on
the flight, but no on Oman Air the only thing they show you when flying to
Dubai is the “Flight show”, which is extremely boring and repetitive.
When it was finally time to eat our hot meal, I was starving
as I wasn’t able to get a proper breakfast at the airport. When the
"Chicken Salsa" was put in front of me I couldn’t bear to even look
at it smelled and looked horrible, I didn’t even eat one bite.
Overall this was a horrible experience with Oman Air, from the shocking service
on the ground and in the air, the horrible food, the 1980s entertainment
system, and old plane I know that in the future I will not even consider this
airline.
