I had booked 8.30 PM Omer travels Volvo bus from Hyderabad to Pune through redBus. I was asked to report 15 minutes prior to departure. Later I got a call from redBus saying the volvo would depart at 8 PM. So I reached the boarding point(Ameerpet) at around 7.45.
During my long wait on the road, I used to call up the mobile number of the pickup agent every 30 mins. He would say the bus is on the way and would reach in 5-10 mins. Finally the bus came in at 11 PM, which is after a wait of 3 hours and 15 mins, on the road(No Omer office in Ameerpet, The boarding point Guru travels do not allow you to sit if you have booked through redBus).
Finally when the bus came, I got into the bus. It started at around 11.15 and then one guy from Omer came to me and told me to get out of the busafter travelling for 2 Kms, saying that was not my bus. While I got in, he had indeed confirmed that it was the right bus. I then called theattendant on mobile again, I saw it was the same guy who was telling meto get out, and he was also the same guy who was standing in Ameerpet near me and staring at me. He behaved as if it was not his mobile ringing. Heimmediately took his mobile and put on silent.
I then called up the Omer Travels office from my mobile and asked theattendant to talk to people at his office. To my shock when he spoke toOmer office, he started talking in English as if he is a customer.Saying things like "My brother missed the bus etc etc". I was shokedand asked him what was he talking. He told me to get out immediately. The driver dragged the bus to another 1 km and finally asked me to get out.
So I was literally thrown out of the bus midway in-spite of having a valid ticket. They even snatched away my ticket.
Couple of days later:
I complaied to redBus about the incident. redBus being a fine service provider, they listened patiently to my concerns and initialited their bit of investigation into the issue. Supposedly, Omer travels guys were arguing with redBus thatthey arranged for my travel in the 11 PM bus.
I then againcalled up the attendant who threw me out of the bus to ask him why they were lying to redBus that they indeedarranged for my seat. Now he says he does not even know what is OmerTravels and he is some Qualis operator. He says he has no connectionwith Omer travels. But the other day he was verifying the tickets ofpassengers in the bus. He was the bus attendant. In fact it was RedBuscustomer representative and also Omer Travels office(Ph 040-66746391) who game me his phone number.
Looks like Omer Travels was cheating redBus.
Overall Horrible experience. Tour operators like Omer spoil the name of new-gen online agents like redBus. I wish redBus clearly removes such travels from their list(Atleast after seeing the feedback on their site as well as on this site)
