OMKARA-Rocks the Saif way!!

Vishal Bharadwaj...dents the filmdom again and says.."If you dare make an adaptation, make it like this!". Does complete justice to the central theme of Othello..and tweaks it in the end...but in a way..Shakespeare would not have complained.:-)   First half drags a little with disjointed events..but sums up to give the mighty picture of Omi Shukla..but it cud have been bettered.   Saif steals the show hands down..the script..the slimy look...and the frown, complement well. What way to start the movie.."Bewakuuf aur Chye mein dhaage bhar ka fark rehta hai!"

Ajay Devgun does what he does best..speaks volumes through his eyes..and that deadly smirk of his.

"Jabaan kaat ke zindagi bhar jootiyann chamkayega Omkara"..

Kareena Kapoor plays the Dolly’s character well and looked beautiful..smartly shuttling between..adorable and seking sympathy.

I take back my words in the preview that I had written for Kareena :-(

The revelation was Konkona Sen...and her dialogue delivery was superb.. especially " meri naani to kehti hai ki mard ke dil ka raasta..pet ke neeche waale raaste se hota hai!" Vivek Oberoi looked lost by just standing there and others taking away the limelight.

The sultry Bips did complete justice to the folk lore with her gyrations...

What was good?

One wedding and four funerals.....Especially the struggle between Omi and Dolly..in the first nite ..NOT FOR MAKING LOVE BUT FOR THE KILLING.

The length of time for Dolly’s death and Langda’s death was apt. One was the slow one and the other instant chop off.

What could have been better?

The evidence that Langda gathers for Omi was a little too..technical.and mobile features like speaker phone became the key..Any other evidence and in a different manner would have been worth watching...Anyways...it looked like 99 % perfection by Vishal Bharadwaj and this was 1% error from his side.

All in all a better movie than Maqbool...and worth watching...   Merchandise: DVD: recommended ACD: recommended Watching twice: recommended The Kamarbadhh in the movie: recommended
