My two stars for the cast go objectively for Saif and Konkana. Saif has really lived upto the expectations after Parineeta. He does full justice to the role of a average man from UP right from his yellow teeth to his acting with eyes in some scenes where he hasnt got any dialogue. Konkana though with a cameo is the only one after Saif who looked comfortable with the surrounding and her role. She looked a typical UP woman. But after hearing her accentized english and potrayal of a Tamil in Mr and Mrs Iyer this should be no news to anybody. She is good in any role. The serious cinema goers wont be satisfied with the score as they have heard Vishal giving them "Pani pani re". The lori on Ajay and Kareena is a delight though. Naseeruddin and Ajay have been wasted in the movie. It seems Vishal just wanted them and Konkana to be the part of the big show. Kareena and Viveck are below average not to find a mention in the review.
Then what to watch out the movie for. Watch it out for the nice plott of the movie and how the director fits "Othello" into the Indian countryside. Watch it out for the cinematography which is no less than superb and the camera work which is one of the attraction. Watch out for how actor from serios cinema make their presence felt even in short roles.
One should not wonder how the movie has been passed with all the slangs after considering how the chairman of the censor board is related to the movie!!
