I ve seen the reviews.. some r good some r not good... but for me.... OMKARA is a movie, which should b watched by each and every person who likes to see good acting, good direction, good screenplay, good background score, and afterall a good story...
omkara is a perfect movie acc. to me...ill discuss one or two lines on each subject
1) ACTING- there is a very very nice star cast... AJAY DEVGAN, he just talks with eyes SAIF, he is sure for the award in best supporting role and also for the nagatie role... what an acting.. a cool, chocolaty guy has turned into a smiling yet jalous man. KAREENA and VIVEK OBEROI also on his best performances.. KONKANA SEN SHARMA and NASEER BHAI r fabulous as usual... in short... a perfect star cast and superb acting.
2) DIRECTION & SCREENPLAY- now here comes the king maker... VISHAL BHARDWAJ he is the most most most telented director after NAGESH KUKKNUR. u just observ the village inwhich the whole story goes.. u dont believe but it is a SET. its not an original village... but u just observ how finely he has worked on it... u can see the poles on which the posters of the politicians r stuck .. those posters r teared as v can see in a normal village.. v can see dogs r roaring around so many times in background.. v can see the pattern of the houses.. its all realistic ... about direction.... there r no words to describe... two best scenes of mine... one is the fight in the train engine light... and another is last scene....how nicely it is directed u can not see these kind a scenes in any movies...in short..... 100/100 in direction and screenplay.
3)MUSIC- a typical vishal bhardwaj kind of music... we can find this type of music only in maachis and maqbool... all the songs r a part of the story..it is like if u r missing the song.. u r missing the story.. beautiful typical music.. u can observ that in last 15 mins of movie .. same background music is played and repeted but still it makes a tremendous effect... overall.. the music is fairly satisfactory..
4) STORY- what to tell about the story, when the story writter is the great shakespere.the greatness of vishal bhardwaj is, he has put the same OTHELLO from the shakespeare culture to a DEHAATI U.P. village...we can say that the story is best because THE MOVIE IS HAVIN FULL LENGHTH OF 2 HRS AND 45 MINS, STILL WE WILL NOT FEEL THAT THE MOVIE IS STREACHED OR IT IS TOO LONG. so the story is perfect...
the only DRAWBACK of the movie is THE LANGUAGE USED IN THE MOVIE... but I dont think it matters. the movie is havin ’A’ certificate. and the main point is .. this typeof language is a need of a movie.. when some one is killing the other person by a gun... it is obvious that none of the both will remain silent.. so this kind of language is obvious in this kind of movies... its upon the one who is watching the movie...
IN SHORT..... OMKARA IS A GREAT MOVIE.. JUST GO AND WATCH IT IN A GOOD THEATRE IT IS WORTH FOR ONE WHO LIKES THE REALISTIC MOVIE HAVING SUPERB DIRECTION, SCREENPLAY AND ACTING..... DONT MISS IT....
