I have been a member for quite some time now and decided to discontinue on Aug 2014. I would summarize the review under following three categories -
*Infrastructure** - In my opinion, its decent if not good. I would call it decent because the facility size, number of equipment, group ex studio are good while the quality of equipment is below average. The cardio equipment do not show the right reading, the machine section is also average with standard equipment. I never used the swimming pool but it looked okay. Oh by the way, they used to have steam room which has been converted into a store room. The change rooms, shower rooms cleanliness is average.
*Program**- Thats where I feel is a complete let-down. They started off well with good mix of programs for cardio, strength, functional. Programs such as Body Pump, TRX, Zumba with excellent instructors were operational but since last 6-7 months this has just been de-focussed. The Body pump program is removed because it has license cost per month and they are struggling to find instructors, Top yoga instructors have dis-continued, every week new zumba instructor is tried, Karate classes have kicked in(quality is poor though).
Sometimes(especially the morning ones) the scheduled classes are cancelled and filled in by a trainer who would conduct boot camp. Quality of personal trainers are decent. I think its a standard feature everywhere as long as you are an average fitness enthusiast. Recently the focus has gone to football and corporate or social events rather than fitness.
*Cost** - Absolutely not worth the value of the money. They charge higher than Golds gym whitefield, or the Solaris in Cosmos mall nearby. A year back the cost was higher but I think it was worth as the programs and quality of instructors were good thus results were visible but if you value it as per their current standards its a let down. The front desk staff is average with most times people have no clue about fitness.
Overall, I feel if its close to your home and your fitness need is beginner to average and willing to pay a higher price you should go for it but if you are serious about your fitness you may find that Ommi is lacking fitness in its DNA.
