One 2 ka 4? What does it mean? I definitely thought this would be an out an out comedy movie with my favorite ’Oh so cute’ couple Shahrukh and Juhi in it. Well, I was in for a surprise, Cause One 2 ka 4 dwells into a much serious kind of concept..Well, the story is not exactly original(surprise!)but it seems kind of ’’hatke’’ what with some excellent art and cinematography, a good background score, a bit of suspense, good performances and a hilarious Juhi who is the sweet icing on top!!
Enter a bright and cool Police Station with a difference! Jackie (Javed) & Shahrukh (Arun)are cops, specially dealing with violations related to drugs. They are brothers( not blood related..obviously) Jackie is a doting father to his 4 motherless kids. Shahrukh on the other hand kind of detests kids in general. Jackie has a mission to track down a notorious drug dealer KKV (Nirmal Pandey). On one such occasion he is mysteriously killed. Shahrukh is heartbroken, more so as the kids think he is responsible for Jackie’s death. To top it, he is also supposed to take care of the kids and lo and behold all hell breaks loose. He seeks the help of his roomie Champak (Dilip Joshi) & Geeta (Juhi Chawla), a talkative haryana lass who has a soft corner for the hero. Geeta wins the hearts of the kids with her funny ways. You’ll be charmed by this Chirpy Chawla!
Meanwhile, Shahrukh, who is hell bent on tracking down KKV discovers secrets that hang in an air of suspense. Watch the movie to find out what happens. The climax is a happy one..Music is by A.R Rehman and is hummable, especially ’’Khamoshiyan gungunane lagi’’ & ’’Osaka muraya’’, but are cluttered in the middle half.. one after the other. The movie has a good plot, but in the second half you might be encouraged to yawn!
Shahrukh had a good role and is convincing but Juhi definitely had a better part. She looks fresh and charming...Jackie is impressive in his special appearance role. One 2 ka 4 has its moments of glory and its downfalls too. Don’t expect anything when u go to watch this one. I would rate it as above average and I would watch it for the Chirpy Chawla. You could too...
