One Indian Girl not so Indian

One Indian Girl is another book by the engineer Chetan Bhagat. As we all know Mr. Bhagat has good experience in the writing novels and has also done good commercialization of his books. His books like Five Point Someone, One Night at Call Center etc were few among the fame. His latest One Indian Girl is discernible, cognizant and easy to comprehend. The easy language used is the hallmark of Mr. Bhagat. The book is about the girl Radhika Mehta, who used to be shy but changed hell lot after completing her studies in the United States. After completing her studies her parents arrange a marriage for her with Indian boy, whose ceremony took place at Goa. But past hunts us through life. Her previous boyfriend suddenly comes back in her life. The element of sex made the book somewhat interesting. Many past histories of the Radhika will tie you down with the book. After reading the book, one will think about the modernity that crept into the Indian culture. Mr. Bhagat has been the vocal supporter of modernization. But why so much hue and cry for modernity? Have the people of India forgot their past. That culture which made the people of India proud through ages, has now being felt as burden on their minds and physique. The attire and the values which are being projected as modern are in fact regressive. Instead of promoting western cultures the good writers like Mr. Bhagat should present Indian values holistically. The western cultures will only lead to the demise of humanity. The westernization is one of the reasons of changing mind set of Indian people more towards criminal bent of mind. The westernization is criminalization of Indian values. This has led to more cases of divorce and disrespect of women.
