Having read this book more than once, it will be unfair to give a review on this which takes more than a minute to read.
I had read the book some years back & liked it. Again recently, on a vacation, I came across this book stuffed away in my house library & felt like re-reading it(there are very few books which are not my class readings which I would have read more than once - can think of onlyGoal in this list).
The book explains how things can be managed in a minute through 3 basic concepts - 1 minute goal setting, 1 minute praising & 1 minute reprimand in a lucid manner. Everything about the contents seems very intuitive when you think about it with respect to your dealings in the office but honestly the reality is that we dont do things that way.
Though the book is supposed to be about better management, the principles could be applied to personal settings also. For example, how many parents are able to effectively convey to their children on what is anticipatedgood/bad behavior & provide immediate positive/ negative feedback? Even where feedback is given, how many times have parents saidYou are acting like a bad child instead of saying that you are a good child but doing a bad thing?.
The beauty of this book is that it is not just a management book but also a primer on how better interpersonal relationships can be obtained in daily(non professional) life & hence it is a must read for non-managers also.
